spinning
i was thinking today about who my worst enemy is. considering myself a rather peaceful person, i am happy to say i don't have many people in that category. it ended up being a toss up between cindy mackow, my childhood best friend who was actually evil, or Joyce, my former CE director at the church in Bowie, who was legally insane, in my opinion. either one, i would not wish panic attacks on, which i suffer from. i can only explain them as feeling like you are spinning and drowning and unable to breathe. ok... maybe i wish them on Joyce... i kid...

juicy
for all my fashion friends out there you will appreciate how beautiful this picture is. it's stunning actually. brings a tear to my eye. for my less fashionable friends out there, juicy couture is a high end designer and as the tag proves i got a $139 sweater for $19 this evening. and that... is just fabulous.

sprouts
whenever i see sprouts, i think of my friend Miranda. she was one of my best pals at north park university and i remember we would make sandwiches with bagels, turkey, cheese, mustard and sprouts and then eat them on the fire escape of her apartment, which had a great view of downtown Chicago. sprouts just add the perfect crunch and taste. so tonight when i bought some and added them to my sandwich for dinner, i thought of her.

writting
like an idiot, i agreed to give the sermon one week at my church. so today i have been working a ton on writing it. eeek! nervous! it reminds me of college a little. i have known that i have been preaching since february, but i just started writing it today. ahhh the memories. but at least i still have a few weeks before the big day. i can't say the same for college papers.

mick
ok, this is just funny to me. my friend scott's christmas gift this year was a year subscription to rolling stone magazine. i was enjoying the most recent copy and randomly placed a few bobby pins on the magazine when getting ready and found one of the pins resting like this on mick jaggers lip. made me laugh.

john
as some of you may be aware, i have an odd relationship with john lennon. for about a month and a half of my life, john lennon was in every single one of my dreams. every. single. night. this happened when i was in college (about the time i was losing my mind trying to finish my senior thesis) and ever since, i have been fascinated with him. this has lead me to be a giant beatles fan, as well as his solo career. i agree with some of his views on peace and love but there are things john and i don't agree on. either way, he's a part of me, good or bad:) here is picture of him doing what he did (arguably) better than anyone else.

harbor
i work with a youth group which we call "the harbor" and tonight was our last youth group until the fall. we played our absolutely favorite game called bucket ball. there are NO rules to the game except you can't move the bucket and your only job is to get the ball in the bucket. you can throw the ball, kick it, run with it, pass it, tackle and there are no bounds. its BRUTAL but they are obsessed with it. here's some pictures
of my little lovelies.

plant
God help us. I bought a plant. I am NOTORIOUS for being the kiss of death for plants. Plants that I have been told are impossible to kill I have killed, repeatedly. but i have kept the plant my friend Hilary gave me alive for a whole year, so i am hoping my plant keeping abilities have improved. lets hope so.

rit
meet my old, good friend... Rit dye. as a former camp arts and crafts director- this stuff was my saving grace during the summers. i love the stuff -even though, no matter how careful I am, i always get some on my hands. i noticed the other day while folding clothes that I had a big ugly ink stain on a white tshirt so i bought some dye to transform my shirt. results to follow in the days to come.

romeo + juliet
I don't care who you are, if you don't cry... or at least get a little teary... at Romeo and Juliet you are made us stone. I finished reading the play last week, cried my eyes out and decided to watch the movie (with Claire Danes and Leonardo DiCaprio) and once again, cried like a baby. SO sad but SO good. way to go William Shakespeare, you are a pretty good little writer.

pepperoni bread
don't get me wrong... my mom is a wonderful cook. there are many many wonderful things she makes. we always had lovely dinners on thanksgiving, christmas, easter and birthdays, and still do. but few foods make me think of my childhood more than pepperoni bread. this may sound strange, but it's true. if my mom or dad were at the store and there was pepperoni bread on sale they would get it every once in a while and it was the BEST. such a treat! i saw this pepperoni bread at the grocery store the other day and just couldn't resist it.... my childhood self just couldn't pass it up!

jewelry
jewelry. a girls best friend. i am finally getting to the point of being old enough, that my jewelry box is not just filled with $1 earrings i bought at the mall, but actually some really nice things. some lovely birthday gifts, some hand me downs, and a few things picked up along the way and they all live in this jewelry box that my Grandma got me for Christmas many many years ago.

shakespeare
i am in a constant search of something good to read. i went through a bunch of the classics and the big name that was always daunting to me was William Shakespeare. oooooooh. scary. however... i found these fabulous books called "no fear shakespeare" where on the left side of the book is the original text and the right side is in modern text. i still read the original but the other side can just clarify a little. so far i have gotten through Hamlet, Julius Caesar, King Lear and am currently half was through Richard III with a stack of other classic waiting for me. is it cheating, maybe a little, but it has helped me conquer my fear of Shakespeare, so who cares? :)

anthropologie
(sorry i have been away, my internet has been acting up.) good weekend, a little sleep, a little cleaning, a little reading and a little shopping. saturday night my friends took me out for my birthday (only 23 days late! :) ) today i went to one of my favorite stores in the world, anthrologie. they sell really unique clothing, jewelry and home accessories and found this excellent display. the shirt was on sale but the skirt was made of paper. i just loved the way it looks, reminded me of Paris actually.
