as some might now, i have been reading the harry potter books for the past month or so and am on the last book. who knew these books created for kids would be such a good read for grown ups to. anyway, its been fun reading them and escaping into this fun world of magic.

tomorrow my friends and i are throwing a HUGE surprise party for my friend mandy. i am in charge of making brownies and pasta salad. Weeee -- so looking forward to it!

yesterday i simply couldn't take one more minute of being in my apartment so i decided to venture out to find a birthday present for my pal mandy. i got her a great sweater from urban outfitters and found this little beauty for myself... just couldn't resist it. i just love it.

sleep, reading, old movies, sleep, lots of fluid, and sleep is what my weekend has consisted of. I, once again, have been under the weather this weekend. enough already!

last night i made cupcakes for the office for my old pal scott, whose birthday is on sunday. they were delicious and i think they were super cute!

christmas in january

Well, these have just been bugging me but i just couldn't get rid of them. I bought these evergreen leaves back in December and they just looked so lice in my red vase... but i have finally decided to say goodbye to them. au revoir!

Yummy. I made banana bread this morning and it made my apartment smell so good! Plus i got to use my mixer which is always a plus

I had a dream last night last night that I moved to Paris with my girlfriends from college and since then I have been daydreaming about Paris all day. Oh, how I love that city...

yum. I couldn't resist these asparagus' at the grocery store today. So I added them to some penne pasta, chicken breast and parmesan cheese and a little finely chopped garlic all cooked in a little olive oil. delicious.

You may be asking yourself... "does Julie really sort her books by color?" yes I do. "Why" you may ask... because it makes me incredibly happy.

traveling

Last night I had no idea that I would be waking up this morning and traveling to Columbus to spend the day with my friend Keith. But when we both realized the weather was good and neither of us had anything to do... why not? So 30 minutes after I hung up the phone, I was on my way. One of the joys of being young and single, I can just kinda leave and not have to worry about it. It was a fun day, but I am happy to be home.

Tonight is the "after Christmas Party" for my office. Everyone always gets dressed up (especially the girls) so I think I am going to wear these pearls with my dress. Fun fun fun!

How on earth am I to choose between these 2 pictures I took tonight at my friend Mandys house? They were just both so cute I had to add them both. The one picture is of Erin playing "airplane" with Lyla. And the dog is Marley, Mandy and Marks adorable Boxer.

ALL I wanted this morning was a big cup of coffee. and ALL I wanted tonight after a long meeting, was a big cup of tea. Good way to start and end the day with my favorite polka-dot mug.

boxes

Without a doubt, one of my favorite things in the world, are boxes. I LOVE BOXES. I like to put things in them. I like for the things in those boxes to fit perfectly and make sense the way they are in that box. I think it explains some things about me personally, but I also just like to have some thing to put every single thing I own. and JUST ABOUT everything i have, can be put some where specifically. My craft closet is where this is probably at its worst, which is why I love it so so much.

I was bored at work today and did a "random article" search on wikipedia and it came up on Albert Einstein. Interesting fella it turns out. I found this quote and LOVED it.

it's cold. really really cold. and snowy. and icy. BUT i did get to wear my favorite red coat today... so that's good. off to make myself a cup of tea to warm up!

time

I have had an extremely quiet weekend. My apartment is as clean as it has ever been, everything is organized the way I like it. I washed everything from my clothes, rugs, towels, curtains, you name it. I finished all this, yesterday. Today has been a miserable snowy day and I stayed in my lovely sparkly clean apartment... bored out of my mind. When I need to clean I can find 100s of things to do. Now that everything is done... I can find nothing. Funny how that is.

sunlight

I am enjoying being a bit of a hermit this weekend. Organizing my apartment, baking, napping, and watching movies. I don't mind it since December was SO hectic, we have had bad weather in Cleveland and also it gives me a chance to be easy on my tailbone (which is still feeling painful). Although I haven't gone outside much, I did see a bit of sunlight this afternoon.
